Very few Goreans know the way to the Oasis of Klima. Anyone who draws maps of the desert will be killed. The Salt Ubar and his warriors (Guards of the Dunes) control the trade in salt from Klima. Their names are not known, they are always veiled or wear a mask.

As a scout reported, the bandits were still at Exchange Point in the Oasis of Klima. They were only able to get there because they bribed a corrupt caravan leader. Therefore, the last caravan of the Southern Trade Alliance to Klima, which was, as always, under the patronage of Salt Ubar, was surprised and had to retreat after a fierce battle.
The bandits lived on the supplies that were actually intended for the oasis. When they ran out, they set everything on fire.
The heavily armed STA caravan once again set out from the Oasis of the Lame Kaiila to retake Klima’s Exchange Point. They had to rely on the help of the dune guards because only a few people knew the way and the dunes often blocked it. Anyone who doesn’t know their way around the desert will quickly get lost and die.
The magnificent panorama of the dunes did not hide the fact that the march would be dangerous. The caravan’s Kaiila and a guide had already marched ahead and were waiting a few pasangs from the Exchange Point.
After a long time and after several sandstorms slowed the march, the red rocks near Exchange Point came into view. This area is particularly dangerous because the treacherous quicksand sometimes covers the path and you have to walk in it up to your knees.
The caravan came under fire near the Exchange Point and several people were wounded. However, the STA warriors were in the majority and charged forward. After a long and very fierce battle, the bandits fled into the desert.
The warriors pursued the bandits, who apparently didn’t know exactly where to flee. Those who were only slightly wounded remained at Exchange Point and put out the fires.
It didn’t take long for the bandits to be overwhelmed. They were completely lost and had to turn back several times because they got caught in quicksand. However, the Guards of the Dunes and the STA fighters knew the area very well. The bandits were tied up and disarmed.
Meanwhile, the Kaiila of the caravan had reached the Exchange Point of the Oasis of Klima. Food supplies were increased and water barrels were filled.
The prisoners were not taken to the salt mines, but were left to the STA’s allies. The wounded marched to the Oasis of Red Rock. One of the fighters was from there and knew the way.
In the Oasis of the Red Rock there is a very large and well-equipped infirmary. Three members of the Green Caste were already waiting there, including Lady Sabina, who also runs the clinic in Isfahan and the Infirmary of the Oasis of the Lame Kaiila, and her student. The wounded were adequately cared for and some of them had to remain in bed for a few more days.
Exchange Point of the Oasis of Klima

The Exchange Point of the Oasis of Klima has been looted and set on fire by bandits. Almost all buildings are destroyed. There are still food reserves in the oasis. But the situation will become critical if no caravans can deliver more.
The Salt Ubar and the Southern Trade Alliance are planning a heavily armed expedition very soon.
One of the major sites within the Tahari for obtaining salt are the brine pits of Klima. Klima is hidden deep within the dune country and its location is closely guarded. It is located roughly southeast of the Oasis of the Battle of Red Rock and the Salt Ubar’s kasbah. Similar pits exist in other parts of the dune country and their location is equally as secret.
Kaiila are not permitted at Klima, even for the guards. There is a well there but no other water for about a thousand pasangs. Though Klima has its own water supply, it is dependent for food on caravans. Such food is delivered to scouted areas some pasangs from the compounds where salt slaves will retrieve them up later.

Sunrise at the Oasis of Lame Kaiila. A caravan is getting ready to march to the Oasis of Klima. What surprises will the next few days bring?
The caravan leaders decided to march in two groups. The first group had to protect the initiate. It consisted of merchants from Venna and warriors and fighting slaves from Isfahan. The second group marched along with warriors from the Oasis of Scimitars.
After a long march, the first group reached the area around the exchange point of the Oasis of Klima.- She was attacked there by a Kur. A fierce fight ensued.
After the arrival of the second group, the Kur was captured. The initiate was unharmed and was guided through the salt mines of Klima.
In a secret place in the oasis of Klima gathered the leaders of the Southern Trade Alliance, the warriors of the desert and the leaders of the caravan. A man some already knew was proclaimed the new Salt Ubar. The initiate held a small ceremony and gave his blessing.
On the way back, the caravan got caught in violent sandstorms and was torn into several groups. Luckily everyone found their way back.
